The Great Challenge of Life, By Jim Rohn

Here’s the great challenge of life - you can have more than you’ve got because you can become more than you are.

I have found that income seldom will exceed your own personal development. Once in a while income takes a lucky jump, but unless you grow out to where it is, it will go back to where you are.

Somebody once said if you took all the money in the world and divided it among everyone equally, it would soon be back in the same pockets. However, you can have more because you can become more.

You see, here is how the other side of the coin reads - unless you change how you are, you will always have what you’ve got. The marketing plan won’t do it. It’s a good plan, but it won’t work without you. You’ve got to work it. It is the human effort that counts. If you could send a sales manual out to recruit - wouldn’t that be lovely? The major thing that makes the difference is what YOU do.

In order to have more, you need to become more. The guy says “If I had a good job, I would really pour it on, but I have this lousy job, so I just goof off.” If that is your philosophy, you are destined to stay there. Some people say if I had a lot of money, I would be really generous, but I don’t have much, so I’m not generous.

See, you’ve got to change that philosophy or you will never have “the lots of money”. Unless YOU change, IT won’t change. Amazingly, however, when we throw out our blame list and start becoming more ourselves - the difference is everything else will begin to change around us.

The Garden of Your Mind Movie

I was delighted today to come across a movie on YouTube that put my poem, The Garden of Your Mind, to beautiful pictures and beautiful music. Enjoy the photos and the music. I’ve copied the poem below the movie, since it’s hard reading some of the words against the pictures. My special thanks to the one who created the movie.

I’ve also added it to my Inspiration Connection Channel, a place I’ve created for more inspirational movies.

The Garden of Your Mind

Your mind is like a garden:
Whatever you plant will grow.
Your thoughts are seeds you’re planting:
They produce, each after its kind.

And you, just like a gardener,
Can choose which seeds you’ll plant.
And by the choice of seeds you sow,
You choose the harvest you will reap.

So don’t plant seeds of lack or fear,
Disease, discord, or doubt.
Plant, instead, the seeds you want;
Then things you want will sprout.

This gift of choice is given to all,
And not to just a few.
The harvest, friend, is in your hands:
The crop depends on you.

So take this power which you’ve been given,
And use it every day,
To gain from life the good you want,
For you have found the way.

Using Your Power of “I Am”

In January, 1994, I began using a series of four “I Am” statements that occurred to me. They are:

I am Spirit.
I am Light.
I am Love.
I am Peace.

Over the years of saying these frequently to myself, they have been very useful in redefining my definition of who “I Am”. I heartily recommend them to you, if they feel appropriate for you.

We’re constantly making “I Am” statements to ourself, but unless we’re consciously monitoring them, they can be very negative, based on our years of such programming. Statements like “I can’t”, “I always”, “I never”, “I’m such a …” are all “I Am” statements. Many of them we have picked up from others and from our upbringing. Such statements unnecessarily limit our awareness of who we truly are. It doesn’t have to be that way.

I’ve gone into more detail about this topic in my essay, “What Are You Saying ‘I Am’ To?”, available on my website, http://thedoorway.org, under Essays, should you want to explore this more.

It’s way past time for us to stop keeping “God” outside of ourself, continuing our belief in duality, and start including “God” as who we are. It’s always our choice.

It takes no effort to be who you truly are. It only takes effort to “try to be” who you aren’t, all the while “wanting to be” who you really are. That’s why people don’t “walk their talk”. It’s a lot easier to “talk your walk”, once you have given yourself permission to be who you truly are, rather than “trying to be” who you aren’t, and then “wanting to be” who you really are. Give yourself permission to be the child of God you were created as. Living that takes no effort.

Blessings on you, you holy child of God.

Spring, the Movie, by Jane Young

Jane Young has put together another beautiful, musical movie, this time about the beauty of Spring. Her own photography of gorgeous flowers is enhanced by gentle harp and piano music provided by Christine Grace Magnussen’s piece, Dreams of Spring, from her album, On Wings of a Dove. Words quoted from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, by Deepak Chopra, add insight and inspiration to the scene. Enjoy.

Be the Rainbow, by Carrie Hart

Carrie Hart, of www.carriehart.com, has brought us another insightful, inspirational message in her ezine article of March 30, 2008. She writes again of how surrendering to the present moment bypasses the fear we may be feeling in that moment, bringing us back to our own personal power. Enjoy.

Be the Rainbow

What you resist is given strength by your resistance. What you fear is given form through your fear. What you accept with grace as simply being what it is can become an opening door into new worlds.

You may fear a future event, but what you fear is not truly that event, but rather the consequences you believe will flow from it. The event you fear may in fact happen. But the consequences of the event, which are the true root of your fear, are completely unknown and completely malleable.

And even the most feared consequences, if they were actually to come, would not be what you think. It is only resistance and judgment that make something unbearable. Within every moment, no matter what the circumstances, there is grace, there is beauty and wonder, and there is love. And within the deepest presence of each moment, there is always peace.

Open, open. Drop the walls of resistance and fear. Drop the blinders that are keeping you from seeing what is all around you, right now. Turn your head. Look up. Look down. See the world through clear eyes. Feel the love that flows in, around and within you. Feel the help and love that surround you like a warm blanket. Go deep within and listen to the river of love and peace that always flows through the center of your heart and through all that is, right now.

Open, open, and connect with what is. And in the next moment, connect with what is then. And on and on through the moments of your life. Be deeply present. Inhabit this place of power, the only place where action is possible; the only place where anything is possible; this moment; right now.

Feel the energy in your body; feel its tingling aliveness. Feel the clarity of your mind in this moment. See the doors and windows flying open and feel the wind blowing through, clearing away the fear, the judgment, the doubt.

And now, look down at your feet. See that you are standing on fertile ground and little shoots of grass are pushing up through the soil all around you. Millions and millions of possibilities, growing and pushing toward the sun of faith, watered by the gentle rain of love. And now lift your face to that sun and see the rainbow that forms in the gentle shower of love that is always there. You are that rainbow. You are that mixture of sun and rain that makes up life. You are the beauty that forms when everything is shining with what it actually is, when you allow yourself simply to be.

Stand now within that sun, that rain. Be the rainbow of peace and beauty, joy, and love. And declare yourself to the world, right now, in this moment, exactly as you are, exactly as all is: I am.
